Elizabeth Butler was briefly the most popular painter in England, her battle scenes causing a sensation in Victorian Britain. She was then forgotten for a hundred years. An illustrated lecture by her great-great nephew Oliver Hawkins, whose interest in her work began while studying art history at Cambridge. Wine will be served following the lecture. |
