Recorder Rhapsody

Piers Adams, ‘the reigning recorder virtuoso in the world today’ (whose quote?) and Howard Beach last appeared at the Arundel Festival in 1990 and we’re delighted to welcome them back for what promises to be an unforgettable night. As well as being members of the baroque super-group Red Priest, Piers and Howard have been duo partners for many years, dazzling audiences with a blend of virtuosity and showmanship. Tonight’s programme features four centuries of rhapsodic music composed and adapted for recorder and harpsichord, including music by Telemann, Handel, Rimsky Korsakov, Debussy and David Bedford. Unmissable!

"It's not easy to make the recorder a sexy, extrovert instrument yet Adams' virtuosity is breathtaking and presented with unfettered showmanship." THE DAILY TELEGRAPH
