James McKay reads a late night miscellany of the eerie and fantastical in nineteenth century poetry and prose, including poems by Tennyson and Poe, and The New Mother from Lucy Clifford’s Anyhow Stories (1882); a story guaranteed to traumatise adult audiences, let alone the children for whom it was written.
